History

A prominent history of service to southwest Nebraska.

On January 1, 1980, James and Rogene Wenburg moved to Beaver City, NE and purchased what had been a family funeral business for 78 years. The Wenburgs currently operate the business under the name Wenburg Funeral Home Incorporated. James is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in both Nebraska and Kansas, receiving his licenses July 24, 1970 and January 18, 1979, respectively.

In 1956, Bill and Sandra Williamson purchased the funeral home in Araphahoe, NE where they served for over 40 years. Williamsons and Wenburgs worked together from 1980 until August of 1998, when the funeral home in Arapahoe was sold to James and Rogene Wenburg.

Dallas Garey, a native to this area, currently lives in Arapahoe and works with the Wenburgs. He received his Nebraska and Kansas licenses on January 1, 2000 and June 22, 2000, respectively.
