Beaver City, Nebraska

Ralph E. Christensen, age 91, of Beaver City, Nebraska died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Beaver City Manor.  He was born December 15, 1913 at Orleans, Nebraska to Theodore & Millie (Noren) Christensen.

 

He grew up in Orleans and Beaver City area.  He attended country school.  He married Hazel Hardenbrook on December 11, 1935 at Beaver City, Nebraska.  They farmed South of Beaver City for 6 years and moved West of Beaver City where they continued to farm till  retirement in the fall of 2002 at which time he enter the Beaver City Manor.  His wife Hazel died January 6, 2003.  He had served on the School board and the Furnas Co Election Board in his younger years.  He was a member of First Christian Church in Beaver City, Nebraska where he served as Elder & Trustee for many years.

 

Preceded in death by parents, wife Hazel, son Doran in 1993, 1 grandson Ryan Rupe in 1970,  brother Paul, 3 sisters Edith, Edna and Estillene.

 

Survivors include;  Son;  Neal & wife Karen Christensen of Lincoln, NE

                       2 Daughters;  Sharon & husband John Rupe of Holdrege, NE

                                              Linda & husband Wayne Pate of Cropwell, AL

        Daughter-in-law;  Sue Christensen of Columbus, Ohio

                    2 Sisters:  Elsie Dunlap of Beaver City, NE

                                    Effie Champlin of Wichita, Kansas

       Sister-in-law:  Geraldine Christensen of Holdrege, NE

       Brother-in-law:  Bob & wife Erma Hardenbrook of Thornton, CO

    Grandchildren:  7

Great-Grandchildren:  6

 

Viewing & visitation is Sunday, March 27, 2005, 1 PM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, Nebraska and prior to services Monday at the church.  Condolences or personal reflections can be left at wenburgfuneralhome.com. 

 

Funeral services are Monday, March 28, 2005 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church in Beaver City, Nebraska with Pastor Phil Olsen, officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska.  Wenburg funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska in charge of  services.
