Harriett J. Mues, age 94, of San Angelo, Texas died on Saturday, August 29, 2009. She was born on September 30, 1914 in Galesburg, Kansas to James & Ruba (Barber) Gillette.
She graduated high school at Chester, Nebraska and Parsons Junior College in Parsons, Kansas. She taught school in Neosho County, Kansas and in Thayer County, Nebraska. She moved to Arapahoe, Nebraska 1934 and married Earl J. Mues of Arapahoe at Parsons, Kansas on October 30, 1935. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband in his business as bookkeeper until his retirement. She was an accountant for Wagner's Supermarket for 13 years. Her husband passed away on Oct. 19, 1969, she would then relocated to Texas to be near family members. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe and Trinity Lutheran Church San Angelo. She was also a member of the Evening Guild and the Woman's Forum. She was a longtime volunteer at the San Angelo State School at Carlsbad.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Jean, son-in-law Larry Mock, & granddaughter Juli Limmer.
She is survived by her Sons: Jim & wife Linda Mues of Las Cruces, New Mexico
Gary & wife Olivia Mues of Abilene, Texas
Daughter: Marianne Mock of San Angelo, Texas
Grandchildren: 6 Great-Grandchildren 3 Great-Great Grandchildren: 1

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 9 AM till 8 PM at Wenburg Funeral Home, Arapahoe, Nebraska. Graveside services will be Friday, September 11, at 10:30 AM at Arapahoe Cemetery, Arapahoe, Nebraska with Vicar James Moshier, officiating. Wenburg Funeral Home, of Arapahoe, Nebraska is in charge of the arrangements.
